These Studio Photography Photo Experience Days are the ideal way to try your hand at taking photos under studio conditions, but with out the huge expense that buying your own equipment would entail. We supply all lighting, currently in the form of Elinchrom BX and D-lite 400w Flash Heads, with stands, various diffusers, reflectors and of course backgrounds. All you need to bring is an SLR or SLR style camera with a hot shoe fitting (standard flash gun fitting usually on the top of the camera where a flash gun slides on) to accept a flash trigger, and maybe a lap top if you so wish.
Please note that some Sony cameras have a bespoke flash hotshoe fitting that will not accept a standard flash trigger. Owners of Sony DSLR cameras will need to provide their own adaptor to enable our flash triggers to fit.
During this session you will experience what it is like to work with a real live model in a studio environment, as well as learning a few basics about setting up the lighting, using a light meter to set the lights, and how to use some of the other equipment frquently used in the studio.
We conduct these sessions at Kinson Community Centre at Pelhams Park in Kinson, Bournemouth, which has ample free parking, toilet facilities and power points in the rooms for plugging in lap tops and battery chargers. Cold drinks and limited snacks are included in the price. The services of a model are also provided for a two hour photo shoot.
Please note that models will not be nude or topless at any time!
There are two ways to book this day:
Public Studio Photo Days: These cost £40 per person and run from 1 pm until around 4 pm. During this time a model will be provided for a two hour photo session. Places are strictly limited to a maximum of 5 people, giving every one ample time to shoot a reasonable number of images. A booking fee of £10 is required to secure your place, with the balance of £30 payable on the day. Please note that we can only accept cash or cheques with a guarantee card on the day, if you wish to pay the full amount by credit/debit card please let us know when you book so we can arrange for payment via Paypal Invoice on the internet.
Private Studio Photo Days: These cost £150 to book the whole session privately, with a maximum number of 5 photographers attending on the day, and would make an ideal present for the photographer in your life! If you wish to book a private day we will require a £50 booking fee at the time of booking, and the balance of £100 paid on the day by cash or cheque (with guarantee card to cover the amount). If you wish to pay the full amount by debit/credit card please let us know when you book the day so we can arrange payment via Paypal Invoice.
