Tutorial: Starting Off

Here we look at the basic default desktop of Photoshop CS2, and some of the basic controls needed to get around the program.

This is the default start up desk top screen of Photoshop CS2. We can see that a number of windows are already open, namely the Navigator, Color, History, Layers and Tool Window. there is also the Options Bar open along the top just above the darker area of the screen. We always turn off the Navigator and Color windows as they are so seldom used.

You can always turn windows on and off using the Windows Menu. As you can see, windows that are open are ticked in this menu, and some are asigned short cuts, ie tapping the F7 key will open and close the Layers menu.
