Tutorial: Basic Brush Controls

In this tutorial we are going to show you some very basic brush controls. Brushes are one of the most important tools in Photoshop, and although we are using Photoshop CS2, the basics are the same for most versions of the programme.

Step One.

Open a new window. To do this go to "File" at the top left, and in the menu that opens select "New" which will cause a window to open asking you for the size of the document that you wish to open. For the purposes of this tutorial the size is not important, so long as you can see it clearly. You could for example use 800 pixels x 600 pixels at 72 dpi with a white background.

Once you have set up your new blank document click on the OK button
